Simpson® Door Company Launches New 'Glass Taste Test' Online Design Tool

Simpson's new web-based application allows users to view any textured glass option in any Simpson door to find the combination that best suits their taste

MCCLEARY, Wash., September 12, 2012 — With over 900 standard door designs and 24 different standard glass options, Simpson Door Company is known for providing customers a wide selection of design choices. To make it easier for homeowners and building and design professionals to select the glass option with the look and privacy level that meets their needs, Simpson now offers "Glass Taste Test." The new web-based, design tool allows users to combine a specific door design with any glass type by simply clicking on the various options. www.simpsondoor.com/glasstest/

To take a "Glass Taste Test," users first choose the amount of glass they want in their door; categories include full-lite, 3/4-lite, 1/2-lite and 1/4-lite designs. Clicking on the desired door style shows a variety of door designs that fit the criteria. Users then select a specific door to 'taste test' glass. The tool shows doors in an entryway setting with a foyer as a backdrop to allow users to visually compare the privacy level of each glass option.

"We want to make it easy for people to find their perfect door," said Brad Loveless, Marketing and Product Development Manager for Simpson Door Company. "With the "Glass Taste Test" users can easily compare door and glass combinations to find the one they like best. Like the saying "a picture is worth a thousand words," the "Glass Taste Test" provides customers an image of a life-like setting to help see what their new door will look like."

Simpson gives its glass options privacy ratings from 1 to 10, with 1 being completely transparent, 5 being diffused and 10 being completely private. The privacy ratings for each glass are shown in the "Glass Taste Test" to help customers quickly determine which options fall within their desired range. Glass options include heavy water, seedy baroque, cross reed, white laminate, and many more. To do a "Glass Taste Test" or get more information about Simpson doors, visit www.simpsondoor.com.
