Simpson® DOOR COMPANY NAMES PHIL STEKLENSKI VICE PRESIDENT AND GENERAL MANAGER

Phil Steklenski

MCCLEARY, Wash., September 11, 2014 - Simpson Door Company has recently added a new member to its executive team – Phil Steklenski. Phil will succeed Stacie Conkle as vice president and general manager, who will be retiring after 28 years with the company. Phil has a diverse background in the wood products industry, and in his new position will oversee all of the company’s operations.

"Phil has a breadth of experience in the wood products industry and has helped run several large operations," said Allan Trinkwald, president of Simpson Lumber Company. "I am highly confident in his leadership abilities and am delighted to welcome him to the team."

Having worked for and held leadership positions in companies such as Bright Wood Corporation and Andersen Windows, Steklenski is no stranger when it comes to wood products. In his last position, vice president at Woodgrain Millwork, he helped create strong business strategies that enhanced safety, efficiency and product quality at the company’s millwork division.

"I am pleased to be joining a strong and long-tenured leadership team, and am honored to lead Simpson Door Company in its next stage of growth," Steklenski said.

As Steklenski steps into his new position, Stacie Conkle reflects on her time at Simpson: "I am proud to have helped the company weather the storm of the Great Recession, which was one of the toughest times ever in residential construction. In its 100 plus year history, Simpson has continued to thrive despite numerous peaks and valleys in the national economy. I am thankful for the relationships I have developed here, and recognize how one-of-a-kind this company truly is."

"Stacie has been a crucial leader at Simpson for the past 5 years, and I am ever grateful for her dedication and expertise through a wide range of challenges during her many years with the company," said Trinkwald.

"This is a tremendous time to be joining the company," added Steklenski. "Simpson is poised for major growth in the coming years."
