A fellow Pacific North Westerner, Shannon from the Fox Hollow Cottage blog is an expert at all things DIY for the home. With a mass following across multiple social media channels, influencer Shannon shares the story of her home renovations and charming interior design projects.

Her latest adventure is the renovation of her 1920s cottage with her husband and two friendly cats. Recent cottage updates include a custom-made Dutch door from Simpson Door Company, which completely changed the space. Take a look at the project below.

Cottage Entry

The front porch and entryway of The Little Cottage was transformed with new exterior paint and a gorgeous wooden Dutch door. The door features a large glass window on the top portion that allows light to filter into the space when closed, and three horizontal panels on the bottom half.

With the help of a professional, Shannon and her husband decided to completely tear out the old frame and rebuild the entryway so they could hang their new Simpson door. “When the opportunity came up to partner with Simpson Door Company, it was a dream come true,” said Shannon. Shannon ordered her Simpson door in White Birch and finished it using Varathane wood stain in Briarsmoke, along with a Kwikset in Matte Black doorknob from ACE hardware.
