The new door styles feature forged iron-black grille designs fully enclosed between two panes of textured glass - allowing light to pass through while maintaining privacy. The glass unit is also insulated for superior energy performance. "Wrought iron and wood are a natural choice for homeowners desiring a Southwestern or old-world look," says Jim Brandt, marketing manager for Simpson Door Company. "At the same time, the elegant wrought iron patterns and soft-toned glass fit well with many other classic and modern home styles." The new wrought iron styles - "the Laredo" series and "the Santa Fe" series - offer a choice of full-lite designs or 3/4-lite above one or two wood panels. Matching sidelights are available in a range of widths. The doors and sidelights come standard in Douglas fir, Western hemlock and American red oak, and as with other Simpson products, customers can request virtually any other wood species. Laredo and Santa Fe series doors are 1-3/4" thick and come in standard widths of 3'0", 3'2", 3'4" and 3'6". Standard heights are 6'8", 7'0" and 8'0".
