Venetia from Simpson has Homeowners Saying Bravissimo

MCCLEARY, Wash. -- In 15th century Italy, the Venetian School of painting was known for its brilliant use of design and perspective. Today, Simpson Door Company's Venetia design follows in the same tradition, using glass as a medium for expression.

The Venetia is designed to work well with a variety of architectural styles. Characterized by strong patterns of rectangles and squares, it gives subtle references to old world mosaics. Brass caming elegantly frames each piece of glass, while bevel-edged squares and diamonds add depth and beauty. Triple glazing allows for maximum efficiency and minimum maintenance.

The Venetia saw a ten-fold increase in sales last year. There was an increase in demand for the eight-foot model as well. The sparked interest has been attributed to increased consumer interest in glass inserts and classic styling.

"A big surprise for us last year was the surge in popularity of the Venetia entry door from our Mastermark Series," said Jim Brandt, Simpson's marketing manager. "It features a large triple-glazed insert with unique patterns of rectangles and squares. It had been a solid performer for five years then orders jumped ten-fold."

The Venetia may be ordered in either Douglas fir or Western hemlock. With widths of 3'0" and 3'6", and heights ranging from 6'8" to 8'0", the Venetia offers homeowners a broad range of design options. Matching sidelights allow for even more choices.
