Simpson Adds Texas Star Door
New design a hit with current and former residents of the "Lone Star" state
MCCLEARY, Wash. - Simpson Door Company is pleased to announce the addition of a new door with a unique glass panel featuring a single, five-pointed star - the symbol of our country's "Lone Star" state, Texas.
The "Lone Star" has long been the symbol of Texas, appearing on flags dating back to the early 1800s," says Jim Brandt, marketing manager for Simpson Door Company. "We expected this door to do well in Texas, but it's also proving quite popular with former Texans who now live all over the country."
Simpson tastefully recreates the famous five-pointed star lying within a circle by using clear glass against a backdrop of gray glass. The star and circle are surrounded by an outer trim of clear glass in a dome shape that stylistically adds further dimension. Both the clear and gray glass is opaque, restricting a view inside without sacrificing the passage of natural light. The glass is also beveled and insulated for better energy performance.
The new doors are available in two styles, with a choice of the glass above one or two panels. Matching sidelights are also available. Both the doors and sidelights are available in virtually any wood species, including fir, hemlock, oak, mahogany and many others. The doors feature both raised panels and raised moulding.
Simpson's Texas Star Doors are 1-3/4" thick and come in standard widths of 3'0" and 3'6". Standard heights include 6'8" and 7'0".
