Simpson Door Introduces Bullion Glass
MCCLEARY, Wash. - Simpson Door Company is pleased to introduce their newest development: Bullion Glass. Now available in Simpson's 2-lite, 4-panel Selects Series door, bullion glass is a popular option for homeowners looking to create a traditional Colonial look.
Bullion glass, also known as "bull's eye" glass, is characterized by ripples on the glass surface in the shape of concentric circles. The design is similar to that of a bull's eye target. Although clear, the bullion's opaque appearance allows for maximum privacy.
The history of bullion glass can be traced back to the 18th century. Artisans working with blown glass would slice the ends of their works to achieve a finished piece of blown glass. These slices were often discarded, and sometimes used as a low-cost glass alternative in doors. The use of bullion glass became more widespread as a result. What was once a low-cost alternative is now a coveted design style.
The Bullion Glass Selects Series door is available in widths of 3'0" and 3'6" and can be specified in heights of 6'8", 7'0" or 8'0". Crafted from vertical grain Douglas Fir or Western Hemlock, each door features Simpson's 1-1/4" thick Innerbond® panels, which carry a lifetime warranty against splitting through.
Simpson has been handcrafting some of America's finest wood doors since 1912. The company offers a complete line of exterior and interior stile and rail doors in a variety of wood species. To find out more about Simpson's new product developments call 1-800-952-4057 or visit www.simpsondoor.com.
